We have an appointment tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about it. We noticed a Lump about the size of a golfball on her knee the about two weeks ago. I scheduled to be off of work the next two days to take her to the vet, Eric to the doctor and Dylan to get his shots.
She has so much hair that I guess we didn't notice it right away but it seems to be getting bigger. I'm soooooooo nervous about this. The dog I had before her died of Cancer as well as complications of diabetes. Kuma sees the same vet. He had told us with my previous dog that it was just a tumor and nothing serious. We found out it was cancer after it was too late. It was a similar lump on her chest. I'll push to have him test it.
Kuma's is really fleshy feeling... not hard... you can kind of move it around so it isn't real stationary. It doesn't seem to bother her at all. The only thing that bugs me is that she seems kind of mopey and worn down lately. She's only going to be 7. No gray hairs yet even....
Ugh... It's too soon to have to think about this with her...

I'll keep a positive thought that it's just a fatty deposit or something non-malignant - fingers and toes crossed!

Well he took a sample and said it was just a fatty tumor. She had what I thought was a stye on the ridge of her eye lid as well and he said that was a tumor too. Kind of makes me nervous all this stuff popping up. He's not really concerned about the lump but he said there is a possiblity it could eventually turn cancerous. I've opted to have both of them removed. So she goes in for surgery the 22. I was afriad they were going to tell me it was going to cost $700+ but the estimate they gave me, it was only going to be around $300. To me it's worth it.

I am so relieved that it is something fixable. Fingers crossed that she comes through the surgery well.
