My family owns 4 dogs. 2 of them are not gettin along lately. The two are a 5yr old Chow Mix and a 2 or 3 Yr old Black lab mix with also some chow. Lately the two have been gettin into aggresive fights. Alot of them has to do with the chow and terriroty i believe. for instance when someone comes to the door the chow wants to be greeted first otherwise she gets really upset and becomes aggressive towards the other dogs. A couple nights ago when my brother got sick, when both dogs went to see who it was they got into a fight half way through, rather serious too. i ended up having my right hand bit kind of bad but nothing too serious. it was out of my own stupidity to break them up but wasnt anythign attentional by the dogs. We kept them apart up til yesterday. They were fine until my other brother came home. He greated the black lab first, and the chow growled so the black turned at the chow and started fighting. While keeping them apart, my mom was bit when picking up the chow to put it in a room and right along with the brother that came home. My mother wants to put down the chow but i did a little self reassurance and put them together myself on leashes. the chow didnt want a thing to do with the lab and the second the noses touched, the lab started growling and tried to take a bite but i pulled on the leash before something could happen. i dont know what to do, both are really good dogs but for some reason do not get along. Can ANYONE please help me. my mother has the appointment in 2 hours to put down the dog and i really need to know whether this is the only way to go (which im sure there isnt) i dont know if theres pills or what but i need something to shove in my mothers face and say stop! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

The lab gets along with the other dogs great. its the 3 amigos then the 6 yr old chow. it happened before the chow had a puppy but the chow has recently got bad after she had a puppy. Both dogs are not spaided. my mother deciced to get them bother spaided so thats what is happenin. its just these two that have the problem, the other maybe are too young to care. the other is a jack russel and hes 2 and the other is the puppy of the jack russel and the chow which she is bout 8 months now. Any other ideas?

My first Idea which sounds like it is happening is that ALL DOGS SHOULD BE ALTERED. Intact dogs #1 Have more likelyhood to be aggresive with not only other dogs but with PEOPLE, #2 There are WAY to many homeless dogs and puppies out there because of random breedings, #3 This sounds to me like the LAB is chanllanging the existing ALPHA DOG in your pack of 4 because it is at that age where this is NORMAL for even an altered dog, and even more so with one that is intact. YOU NEED to get them fixed, that is the first place to start, Now is the lab mix a FEMALE? ? If it is there is nothing worse than two fully intact females, they will fight worse than any males Read the article on NILIF and follow it see how it goes. To me I think this is just a case of one dog seeking a higher status and challanging the already existing DOG IN CHARGE. It is good that your Lab mix gets along with the other two but in order to correct the problem between the Chow and the Lab you have to ATTEND TO BOTH OF THEM. Try what I suggested and see what happens, also read and print out the NILIF and PUT IT TO WORK FOR YOU. Once the dogs figure out that the HUMANS call the shots things should get better, if not then the one that causes the problems should be the one to be re homed.

This is not for real. I would like to see a Jack Russel mount a Chow. Unless he is extremely well endowed that is not happening. This person has said about 12 things that are meant to get us riled. Lets not forget that it is winter recess for the kiddies and boredom creates trolls.

First off, I've deleted your other post. One post is enough for what you're trying to sort out.
Secondly, I'll buy two dogs not liking each other but the JRT and the Chow having a puppy? Did the JRT need a little stool to stand on or did they spoon it?
Thirdly, you said your brother gets home, dogs fight, mom gets bit by chow while trying to pick her up (??), then puts the chow in the room with the brother who just got home??
You've got either too many holes in your story or too many dogs..either way, I find it hard to understand why all of a sudden the chow went bonkey with the lab/chow mix and why your brother got put in the room with the chow...what did he do wrong??

i swear to god the jack russel mounted my chow, took him several attempts like 20 but he did it. oddly enough only one dog came out. whats even odder is both parents are blrown with some black everynow and then and the baby came out black and WHITE, vet says thats due tot he jack russel genetics or something i dont know but i swear to god he did it because we caught them in the middle of it.

Sorry, I don't find out of control dogs fighting, random breeding due to carelessness, and the threat of having a dog put to death because no one has ever bothered to train it an area for humor.
Sibemom has told you how to instill some order in your pack. Keep the Chow mix and the Lab mix physically separated. Start Nothing in Life is Free for all dogs. All family members must participate. Get all dogs desexed. Start obedience training with all dogs and keep training.
There are no quick fixes, no pills, no two hour deadlines. It's all work, hard work, and a never ending commitment.
Make sure the 8 month old is fully under control, because in 6 months or so the fights may start again with the lab when that dog hits maturity.
If you are sincere, I urge you to follow this advice. And if you are just a troll, go get a life. And learn about karma, because it bites worse than a dog.
