I assumed it was in response to Laura's suggestion that the dog be crated or kept in an outdoor kennel when company comes over. The dog did go into an outdoor kennel after the problem started ("My bf put the dog in the kennel and when my sis in law went outside he barked at her like crazy"), and he just continued his behavior from the safety of the other side of the fence when he was approached. What did he learn from that? Maybe that the kennel is a punishment, and no one can control him once he's in there.

Yeah, but I think my answer was "if the situation would overwhelmingly trigger the aggression response" (read: dog beyond meltdown point ;D). And I certainly wouldn't put the dog in an outside kennel, the stimulus level is still too high outside, inside in a crate that's familiar and quiet to the dog would be my choice.
But, hey Wizard, feel free to expound on your thoughts.

SORRY LAURA! It was Willow who suggested a crate or an outdoor kennel.

SORRY LAURA! It was Willow who suggested a crate or an outdoor kennel. I'm glad you cleared that up, Kona. Horror of horrors if someone is blamed for my responses. And you know what they say about "assuming".
