[glow=red,2,300]GOOD![/glow] That is the reaction I wanted, and please join the Yahoo group Stop the SS Killing Machine, they've gotten over 100 new members since the film aired. It's a very pro-active group with legal aid backing and people from all over the country who want to put a stop to the madness. Protests are starting to organize, as well as letter writing campaigns to HBO, the New York Times, etc., as well as an online petition that I will get up and running as soon as Livi gives the ok.

I'm surprised she even allowed that movie to be made! I can't believe it. I am just dumbfounded. I understood what all the uproar was about but I didn't REEEEALLY UNDERSTAND. That lady has no business working with dogs....

Right off the bat the first thing you experience on the documentary is a dog being euthanized.....
This woman has it out. You can see the look in her eye when she's antagonizing the spaniel....She gets off on it...

I think I'm glad I don't have HBO! Just from what you guys say here, "I have a gun and I know how to use it."

Found this on an AOL message board. Laura you will probably recognize the name of the poster Message 5 of 9 Subject 19 of 50 Subject: Re: Agnes on Shelter Dogs and my Gabby..... Date: 2/1/2004 9:37 AM Eastern Standard Time From: ChicaAnaranjada MsgId: <20040201093713.27560.00011135@mbs-r09.aol.com> I used to work at Rondout Kennels. I was in that documentary. Most of the "spinning, aggressive" shelter dogs you see in the beggining are actually boarding dogs (In other words, they were owned dogs that people were paying money to keep there while they were on vacation) Agnes suffered 26 1/2 hours before being put to sleep just so they could have a dramatic ending. People who find that hard to believe should call the vet because he questioned why Sue had waited so long when Agnes was in so much pain. Recently, a woman who gives donantions to Rondout brought an uneutered male 7 month old Jack Rusell puppy to Rondout to put up for adoption. Someone had tied him to her door. She tried to keep him, but he was dominating her other dogs. Anyway, the puppy was TT and he peed on the pig's ear. They said he was "Off the scale" (and that is an exact quote) dominant aggressive. He did not, however, guard the pig's ear and show any dominance towards anyone. So the woman pulled him out and brought him to us. He was adopted and the family adores him! He takes showers with the wife, plays hide and seek with the husband, and while he was here with my family, he loved the children (some dominant dog huh) After this documentary was made, two dogs died in her back kennel (death row we like to call it) from untreated URI. Another dog had to be rushed into emergency with pnemonia and a extremely high temperature. The dog was actually boarding there. He went untreated and almost died. Not to mention, Rondout was craw;ing with other diseases and tried to have a rabies clinic in the shelter (keep in mine, a lot of the people that go to rabies clinincs, there dogs are UNVACCINATED). The town filed a complaint because of the dog that almost died and the health department shut down their rabies clinic. Recently, they confiscated 30 dogs (which I think was illegal) and their website only has one dog up for adoption. Do the math. Rondout is a sick shelter!

Ok first off, I don't have HBO and as Willow said, I'm sorta glad too....but I did read those other posts too and wow, you really gotta wonder where this chick is coming from...
The way I am looking at this is like this: this nazi impersonator does what she does cuz for the most part (other than a lot of true dog-lovers out there) the majority of the people out there think (out of ignorance) that she is doing a service for mankind by eliminating all these "evil" dogs...what she should be doing is eliminating all the "evil" stupid ignorant wannabe dog owners for screwing up the dog in the first place and then just tossing the dog into the trash....what she does is like treating the symptom instead of the real problem: ill-prepared, uncaring and clued-out dog owners!!!
So in fact, she's being the efficient clean up person for a lot of people who made poor choices or didn't even try to do right by thier dog....shame shame shame....
Ultimately though, to think that she's doing the right thing by just looking into the dogs eyes?
Funny it sounds like some of the internment camps ran by that funny guy with the little moustache in WWII...somehow, everyone thougth he was doing a good thing too.....
Where was it written, I think it went something along the lines of: those who don't learn from thier mistakes are bound to repeat history???
