Hi All.
Lucky is a cross breed and we've had him since he was about 6 months old. He has the markings of a Swiss Mountain Hound but slightly skinnier. He is a very strong dog and always been very energetic. Used to be very aggressive towards other dogs and animals in general (he's okay with bitches though) but has calmed down alot after i started training him to focus on me.
He's 15 now and still going strong and still loves his exercise. Last week we noticed a new Boxer walking in our park and Lucky has been showing aggression towards him.
We walked past the boxer's owner and his dog and lucky was barking and showing aggression. Usually when i get quite firm on the lead to steer him away and 'ssshhhhh' him he will calm down but this time as i pulled firmly on the lead he turned and bit my ankle. It lasted about 2 seconds and i didn't want to pull on the lead whilst he had his teeth around my ankle. But then let go and carried on walking without paying attention to the Boxer.
I believe that he had built up all the aggression and it just let loose and he wasn't aware of his own actions. As soon as he realised what he had done he let go of my ankle and calmed down and i think he felt bad about it.
But since this incident i've noticed his behaviour starting to change and go back to being more aggressive towards other dogs again.
I'm worried and would like some advice. Is it his age because he's never done anything like that any human.
