Happy to see you here, we can compare Ridgeback stories.

any body else have a ridgeback?
I had to leave my girl home with my mom while im going to school in dallas, so it kinda sucks. i cant have her in the dorm so shes hanging out were she grew up, i think shes cool there as long as i visit every couple of weeks.
i got 2 stories both are sad-kinda.
1st one. me and some other ridgeback owners meet up at the park back home and let the dogs play together, but this one day one owner put his ridgeback and doberman on a down stay while he went to the restroom (very very well trained dogs). while they were in down stay, this guy decides to let his dog off leash to run around, it was a pti bull that unfortunetly was owned by a dog fighter. btu anywho- the pit charged at the ridgeback (didnt see the dobe) and as the pit was in the air the ridgbacked turn and bit it at the neck and killed instantly.
really sad for the pitbull, and shows how powerful a ridgeback can be. the guy took the ridgeback owner to court and stuff but he lost and months later was arrested for dog fighting.
the 2nd involves my scarlet. as some might know ridgebacks eat ALOT, and there very smart as well as sneaky. so one day i come home from work to find my refigerator door had been opened and everything inside was eaten/destroyed. so the next day i set up my camera to watch scarlet do her magic. sure enough she stopped watching tv, got off the sofa, went to the fridge, and ate away. so now i have to lock up all the food when i leave.

Yes even in type I can hear that Texas Drawl ;D So your dog likes to get in your fridge does she? I think I will have to reconsdider that one in his list of service dog feats I must say I dont know anything about ridebacks but from what I have read they are interesting. So what are you going to school for Matt? I must say I like Dallas, San Antonio is my favorite city in that great state, I spent alot of time there while I was growing up visiting my uncle. Yep fridge opening has been crossed off the list. I could just see that goof ball door wide open with the entire weeks menu's strewn across the floor with a look like "It wasnt me "

My girlfriend and I spent part of a summer in Houston. I too love Texas. The people are all so nice and friendly and life is slow and relaxing. We had a blast two stepping with our cowboy hats and boots. The only thing that is annoying is the humidity. You just melt. There is no reason to ever blow dry your hair. One minute outside and the curls are back. You probably don't have that problem, do you Matt. ;D I know one ridgeback. An aquaintance of mine has one. They are beautiful dogs. Stubborn as heck but with proper training, wonderful dogs. Thanks for sharing your stories. What fun an open fridge must be for a dog.

To me, the ability to pull open the refrigerator door is the line between human control and animal domination. IT SHOULD NEVER BE CROSSED. Once we've lost the refrigerator barrier, the only thing protecting order from chaos is Opposible Thumbs. Imagine the unbridled joy of a Labrador faced with an open fridge. I used to keep Sailor in the kitchen when I was at work. After the "food tragedy that we don't speak of in my house" Sailor stays in the laundry room. Quite honestly, I'd be delighted if she learned how to use the washing machine . . as long as she stayed away from the delicates. Maybe I should have posted this in the "weird things about you" thread

Hi Matt! Welcome to the short bus. If you don't know, I'm Peekaboo from "that other site" ;D. I was banned as Dobemom, but snuck back in as Peekaboo. Some of the crap gets on my nerves, but I just can't help sticking in my two cents .
