I was wondering if there is an AKC rule that would disqualify the use of a "Basket" or any muzzle at a sanctioned show? Thanks for your feedback!

I think it would be considered a 'training device' and would not allowed in competition. You might be able to find an enlightened club that would let you use it in training, but not in sanctioned trials.
The NADAC (North American Dog Agility Club) prohibits anything used in the ring: "In all agility classes, the handler shall direct their dog through the course without a collar or lead. No food, toys, balls or other device may be used within ten (10) feet of the entrance to the ring. The handlers may not carry anything with them into the ring, which might be construed to be an aid to the performance of the dog (such as a whistle, fanny pack or leash around their waist)."
I'm pretty certain the muzzle would fall into 'other device'. The AKC standards will be similar. I couldn't find the AKC agility specifics the net, but the email address is agility@akc.org and they welcome questions. ;D
