I have to agree with Willow. My dogs may be out alone if we are at home during the day, and they don't tend to go far at all, but at night or if we are not home they are secured.

I'd say no.
Round here in rural areas farmers regularly shoot loose dogs on their land, in order to protect their stock. Even the nicest dogs can maul or frighten livestock, so farmers generally feel no compunction about shooting any roaming dogs that they spot on their property.
So you might think your dogs are pretty well boundary trained, but would you bet on their lives? Because that's what you'd be doing if you let your dog roam in a rural area. If your dog entered the land of your neighbour and didn't immediately recall to him, you'd probably have a dead dog. And imagine how terrible you'd feel if your dogs did maul someone else's livestock? Dog maulings aren't pretty.
If I had rural land, I'd rather fence off a smaller area of my land for the dogs to run in, and know they were safe in there. If I wanted to let them have a good run, I'd take them out myself for supervised playtime.
