Subtitled: Explaining in plain English how dogs learn and how best to teach them.Written by Pamela J Reid.
I have a long train ride to and from work, and I am working my way through the Delta Society CGC Instructor training reading list. As the title suggests, Execl-erated Learning is not dog training book, it's a scholarly discussion of Learning Theory in dogs. If you want to be able to hold your own in discussions on Classical versus Operant conditioning, if you'd like to understand the difference between ratio schedules, differential reinforcement and free operant experiments, if you'd like to talk like a book- learned behaviorist, this is your book.
It makes some very salient points about punishment - which directly contradicts the Delta purely positive position and re-enforces my own style of training, in my humble opinion.
I think it was a worthwhile read, but I am going to have to read it again, write down some of the definitions, and seriously think about some of the points. I recommend it for someone that wants to be a professional trainer and/or behaviorist.

This book was recommended to me by two other trainers, and I STILL haven't gone out and bought it. ;D It sounds like a very interesting read though, so I'll definately add it to my wish list (which is now up to $300 )
