Well good luck to you on your new site ;D My comment on this is that THERE REALLY IS NO SUCH THING AS A BREED SPECIFIC TRAINING TECNIQUE. That said what needs to be kept in mind is that it is the individual dog that dictates what kind of training is needed. Although certain breeds have common traist such as dominance, aggresion. dog aggresion, etc... it really is the individual dog and their makeup. Proven tecniques that someone might spout to you that are only used for EX: The GSD, are probably just basic training excersises that are widely used with ANY BREED. All a person needs is a well balanced approach of corrections and praise, and using the NILIF for any dog no matter what the breed is the biggest help you can offer Again good luck

You are right - the differences between dog breed training techniques are not huge, but I do believe they exist and should be considered - knowing the overall traits of a certain dog breed will definitely help you apply a more suitable training technique to an individual dog belonging to that breed. I wish everyone an excellent weekend Edited by Brooke

Hi Allweb 99,
Interesting concept, but I am wondering what breed do you train in a mixed breed? Or what if you don't know what all the breeds are in a mix?

Sorry Michael... Advertising a website here needs to go in the Advertisement section of our site and abide by the sticky there. I'm not so sure how I feel about "breed specific training styles" myself, unless you are speaking more in terms of domiant breeds to those known for less dominance but you are more than welcome to participate here and educate us on your thoughts. ;D Always good to learn something new everyday. I have never heard of that concept before.

If anyone would like to participate in Michaels website to help him, you are more than welcome but please feel free to do so through email or PM. ;D I'd like to keep things here as original as possible, apart from what is on the web. ;D
